PRESIDENT'S NOTE

Dear Rotary Family,

This Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Please join us to hear from our club's new Membership Co-Chair, Leah Arlington. She will be discussing her integration to the seat as well as upcoming events, plans, and ideas she has to expand our club's reach in the community!

Did you receive a strange email from me this week that was very confusing? I apologize!!! The event is to sell raffle tickets at Galaxy Federal Credit Union on Friday, August 16th from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. The event is correct in CR, but the sign-up was emailed, which is very confusing. Please consider signing up for a 2-hour time slot to sell raffle tickets at GFCU.

Come to the regular meeting for the 50/50 drawing down to 2 cards this week!

Please don't forget to gather PINS for Estella's Exchange Jacket so we can present those to her before her departure. Please bring them to this week's meeting.

Our club's next Membership Mingle will be held on August 17 at Rock In River Fest from 3-5 pm.

Please wear a Rotary Shirt and come visit with our awesome members!

Franklin Rotary, Home of District Governor Zachary Covington is the main sponsor for the event, and it would be great to have a great turnout to show our support for the DG as well as the event our town is hosting. See you there!

Mark your calendar for the August 18th Community Helping Day to volunteer your TIME at the Sandycreek Playground Refresh Project.

Phase 2 will be completed on August 18th with painting, staining, installation of new accessories, and some replacements of equipment. Come help!

Our club's first Discover Rotary Meeting will be held in place of our regular Tuesday meeting at 6:00 pm on August 20 in the ballroom of the Franklin Elks Club. This event is not only for new or prospective members, this will be great information for all Rotarians. Come show support for the effort to enhance club membership, and bring a friend or family member who keeps asking " What is Rotary, and what is it that you guys do?" We can promise all your questions will be answered, and then some! See you there!

The 5th nonregular meeting event in August is a River Float hosted by Chad Ellis and Candy Connors on August 24th. More details to follow, please let Chad know if you are interested in participating.

Our club will be participating at the Franklin Library for a room painting project on August 22, 2024, from 10 am - 6 pm. Please stop in to volunteer your time to help out the library. All supplies will be provided, they just need manpower.

Have a great week, and remember I will be available for Office Hours on Tuesday from 11:30 - 12:15 this week if you would like to chat before the meeting. There will be a short board discussion from 11:45-12:00 so please come early if there is a topic for discussion.
